My all-time favorite.

Just wonderful.

6

2020-12-23

My favorite Instagram cocktail find so far.

5

2020-08-23

Just a wonderful Mezcal experience.

4

2021-03-29

Delicious and smooth! Finally got myself a bottle of Amaro Montenegro which worked wonderfully here.

4

2021-01-31

Absolutely brilliant margarita riff! This is my favorite mezcal margarita build.

3

2022-08-31

Needs preserved lemons, but it's such a banger.

3

2022-01-29

A classic!

3

2021-08-22

A classic.

3

2021-02-12

Refreshing!

3

2021-02-18

The split base of Mezcal and Aquavit works so well with the celery juice!

3

2022-08-18

My first use of Maraschino. One of my favorite cocktails now, although harder to get in bars now that they can't keep Green Chartreuse in stock.

3

2020-09-26

Lovely! The tea-infused gin is simple to make.

3

2020-09-07

Fabulous and complex, but calls for some niche liqueurs.

3

2022-10-18

A fancy bar classic. A bit technical on the execution to get the foam to lift!

3

2022-06-11

This is the only non-Chartreuse Last Word riff I've had that hits like a Last Word.

3

2023-03-20

Lovely! Needs fresh basil.

2

2020-07-25

A Phil Ward classic: lovely Negroni/French 75 mashup. Not too bitter—hits a great balance.

2

2021-08-01

I bought falernum for this. Might have been my first tiki cocktail? Green Chartreuse and Mezcal are not frequent tiki ingredients, though.

2

2021-09-04

Phil Ward just doesn't miss.

2

2021-11-13

Really wonderful flavors! Made good use of my juicer for fresh carrot juice.

2

2024-07-05

Fun to contrast with the Last Word!

2

2020-09-28

Delicious.

2

2021-02-13

Use an interesting honey for better results. I made mine with Doom Bloom honey—made from bees feeding on Spotted Lanternfly dew.

2

2021-04-04

A classic.

2

2021-04-19

I had this at Dutch Kills in NYC, so good!

2

2021-06-01

Labor-intensive, but delicious.

2

2021-10-23

Mezcal and blood oranges pair beautifully, and the aranciata rossa plays so naturally with that mix.

2

2022-01-11

Delicious! Mezcal and sherry are such a great split base!

2

2023-10-13

A highball penicillin. Delicious!

2

2021-10-11

Simple and lovely.

2

2022-01-12

First use of Pisco.

2

2021-04-11

Fantastic take on a piña colada!

2

2021-12-20

2

2022-10-04

Just an absolutely terrific execution of a gimlet.

2

Delicious Paper Plane riff!

1

2025-06-15

A classic. I'm not sure why I hadn't made this before!

1

2025-09-03

I'm a sucker for a Last Word riff, and this one didn't disappoint!

1

2023-12-08

A very simple pre-Prohibition Manhattan riff. Delicious!

1

2024-02-24

1

2023-08-01

Not a fan of a standard Bloody Mary, but this is delicious!

1

2024-03-31

Great Manhattan riff, another Phil Ward classic.

1

2021-09-22

Absolutely delightful drink!

1

2023-07-07

It's a Last Word but with Mezcal. What's not to like?

1

2025-03-02

1

2025-03-15

I bought Lillet Blanc to make this.

1

2021-03-27

Involves some prep work, but this is a wonderful drink!

1

2023-03-11

Another classic that I skipped over!

1

2025-09-04

An absolute treat!

1

2021-05-17

1

2024-05-09

Lovely summer drink! Captures the spirit of a G&T in frozen form!

1

2021-07-12

A spur-of-the-moment invention taking inspiration from the Sgroppino.

1

2023-05-09

Delicious! Sort of a tequila penicillin.

1

2022-11-11

Mocktail recipe by Isabella, tweaked into a cocktail by me.

1

2022-05-12

Doesn't sound like it should work from the recipe, but it does!

1

2025-04-16

Recipe is for a pitcher, will be a wonderful summer drink!

1

2021-04-03

It's a long Whiskey Sour, and there's nothing wrong with that.

1

2025-09-18

A Phil Ward drink.

1

2025-03-05

By way of @engineering_bae

1

2021-08-06

Turning The Last Word into a long drink? Brilliant.

1

2021-08-30

1

2022-05-25

Needs Lavender-rosemary syrup, but worth it! So floral and lovely!

1

2021-03-27

1

2024-11-14

The Moroccan mint tea syrup is rather involved, but the drink is worth it.

Cocktail #100 on my list!

1

2021-04-14

A classic.

2021-07-31

Another Sam Ross banger.

1

Mezcal and grapefruit bitters are a wonderful combo!

1

2021-09-10

1

2022-03-19

Great drink. Imagine if a Daiquiri and a French 75 had a baby.

1

2023-01-24

I bought a papaya, so why not? I made this as a frozen drink and used some papaya seeds as garnish, and they turned out to be a really nice textural addition and flavor note in contrast with the drink.

1

2022-11-22

1

2022-09-14

1

2022-09-15

It doesn't sound like it should work, but I've never had a Phil Ward drink I didn't like and this drink is no exception.

1

2025-05-12

This sounds ridiculous but it's fantastic.

1

2021-07-21

1

2020-10-28

Lovely punch, I made this for Thanksgiving and it was well-received.

A classic.

3

2021-01-20

Great mezcal cocktail!

3

2021-03-28

Peaty scotch is not to my taste, but as a minor flavor note in this drink it works nicely.

3

2021-01-06

It's just a daiquiri, but with aquavit. Nothing wrong with that!

3

2023-01-28

From _The United States of Cocktails_.

3

2020-11-08

Uses a homemade pecan orgeat.

1

2020-12-29

The bitterness of the arugula is great in this!

1

2022-03-26

Nice entry in the genre. A lot more complex than most of the others!

1

2026-09-29

I don't like a standard Boulevardier, but the extra sweetness makes this more to my taste.

1

2025-05-26

From the Shaker & Spoon _Pisco Inferno_ box.

1

2023-07-11

Sweet but tasty.

1

1

2022-01-30

It's a bit on the sweet side, but not overwhelmingly so.

1

2025-03-17

I bought Sloe Gin to make this.

1

2020-10-28

Made this with the delicious Bacoo 12 year old rum I picked up and it was amazing.

1

The fat wash from the brown butter gives this such a luxurious mouthfeel!

1

2023-05-26

Another IBA official cocktail. Light and refreshing!

1

2025-09-09

It's basically a Daiquiri with coconut water, and it's hard to be mad at that.

First use of Old Tom Gin!

It's a Last Word, but with tequila. Doesn't work as well as the original but I'm not mad at it.

1

2021-09-28

The fennel flavor could have been more assertive. Perhaps some fennel juice in the mix, or an absinthe rinse/spritz.

1

2022-12-19

My own invention

1

2022-02-17

Calls for fresh grapefruit juice, which I don't always have on hand, but worth it!

1

Love a Manhattan riff.

1

2022-01-26

Great low proof frozen drink for a hot day!

1

Interesting mix with red wine, gorgeous layered presentation.

1

2020-09-17

It's nice.

1

Tequila and Mezcal are such a nice pairing.

1

2020-11-30

1

2022-01-06

Making the passion fruit syrup is a bit extra, but the drink is lovely.

Nothing fancy, just a tasty gin drink.

1

2025-04-28

Made on a whim to use some of the lovely banana peppers I had bought.

1

2021-01-30

First use of black walnut bitters.

1

2020-08-28

Refreshing, good use of mint.

1

2020-07-27

Like an Aviation with orange instead of Maraschino. Unfortunately it feels a bit unbalanced.

1

2023-09-18

I like this a lot better than a standard Negroni.

1

2020-09-30

Very boozy!

1

2020-10-02

Good, but very dry. Probably could stand to use a nicer gin since it's so gin-forward.

1

2023-01-07

Kinda boring TBH?

1

2022-03-28

1

2021-03-03

Didn't have precise measurements.

1

2021-04-25

1

2021-07-18

Doesn't feel balanced to me, the Yellow Chartreuse is a bit overpowering. I think this drink would be better if it weren't trying to stick to the four equal parts motif.

1

2026-09-28

My own invention to make use of this Jones Soda Co Orange & Cream Soda.

1

2020-10-27

First use of Suze. Nice and herbal.
